Who we are
Background
The Arukay system was created at Harvard University's innovation lab and has reached more than 100,000 children between the ages of 4 and 17 in 8 countries. We develop projects in 10 Colombian cities, reaching more than 150 schools, public and private, that work with the STEAM platform.
We have recently started operations in Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Spain and now Brazil.
Missão
The mission of the Arukay system is to transform education through the use of exponential technologies, providing students with the tools they will need to succeed in the future in this changing world.
Visão
By 2025, our goal is to help 100 million students to reason in a "fully biliterate" coded way. This way, we will be able to foster the growth of a generation that is ready to participate in the job market in the near future.
Founders
Ana Victoria Ricaurte - CEO
She has more than 19 years of experience, leading teams in financial, educational and health institutions. She acted as Director of the Internet Sector of the Colombian Stock Exchange and of the Porvenir Pension Fund. She was vice-president of Operations at Best Doctors and founder of INNCUBATED (the first education startup incubator in Colombia). Graduated from Universidade de Los Andes, CESSA and Harvard University.
Marcelo Burbano - CFO
He has more than 19 years of experience in financial and strategic consulting, with 10 years dedicated exclusively to the educational sector, guiding institutions, companies and business groups. He was responsible for the Latin America sector at Parthenon Group, one of the most recognized educational strategy consulting firms, based in Boston. He graduated in Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes. Later, he graduated from the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), having completed an MBA at Harvard Business School (HBS).
